Just about every day when I pick you up from preschool you have a handful of papers with your drawings on it that you do during free time at the end of the school day. You often fold the papers in half and then draw string or ribbon on it so it looks like a present that I get to open. You often make little paper presents for Papi, too.
I just thought of this, and I can't believe that I didn't write about it before. At preschool you have a little friend there named Wade. In the fall, he often gave you little gifts that you would bring home: a bouncy ball, a toy car, etc. One day in December he gave you a sparkly ring in the shape of a Christmas tree. When I came to pick you up, another friend of yours, Sloane, came to me and told me about the ring. Your teacher Diana also told me about it, apparently it was the most exciting event of the day! The ring was quite big for your finger, so you really only wore it for that one day. I'm sure you have it kept somewhere special with some of your other jewels and sparkly things.
At the beginning of February I (kind of begrudgingly) signed up myself and the three of you kids for the winter reading program at the library. I recorded a few books that each of us had read, but then I forgot about it and didn't record anymore books. I was pleasantly surprised when I got an email last week from the library saying that you had won the grand prize from the program! A $40 Amazon gift card! It was really good timing, as about a month ago, you had started asking me if we could buy you a toy stroller for your stuffed animals. Unfortunately, it was after Christmas, we're pretty far away from your birthday, and you don't have any money left, so it was going to have to be a lesson in waiting. And you did for several weeks. But now for your love of reading, you have been rewarded with a toy stroller. You shared the gift card with Matías and Belén, so everyone got a little something from Amazon.
