You are now officially 5 years old! Your birthday definitely had a unicorn theme with a unicorn cake and Sunnie and Uncle Cary gave you lots of unicorn stuff, including a stuffed unicorn that you named Sparkle. Sparkle goes with you just about everywhere that we will allow her to go. You were also excited to get a wooden play birthday cake, Peppa Pig family dolls and a Lego Friends house. You are an adorable 5 year old.
I realized that I didn't write about you starting preschool yet! You have been going to Puentes, three days a week, since the middle of August when Matías and Belén started school. I was pleasantly surprised that you didn't cry and you weren't clingy or anything! I think it helped that Matías and Belén told you about what they remembered from going there, so that helped soothe any fears you may have had. You often talk about the friends you have there and in the last week or so when we are eating lunch you will tell me something like, "Dime una palabra que empieza con la letra G" and we both make a list of words. Sometimes you give me clues about a particular word that you want me to figure out. It is so obviously the way that Diana, your teacher at Puentes, teaches you. It's cute to see you imitate it. You have mentioned that you are one of the few kids that doesn't cry for your mommy. You seem a little frustrated by the kids that cry, but I think it happens less and less.
Also, collecting leaves this fall, you have been pretty darn helpful. You can use the leaf 'claws' pretty well and it's so nice to have the extra help!
