You finished up two weeks of swimming lessons a few days ago at the Dunkley's house. I think you were fine the first day but you were not enjoying having to put your face in the water so many times each day. Afterward, each day when I reminded you that you had your lesson, you told me you didn't want to go. Several days you were either crying when I put you in the pool or at some point during the lesson you would cry a little. I think you just had to relearn how to blow the bubbles out of your nose so you wouldn't swallow a bunch of water. But on the last 3 days of class you finally got it and your teacher told me that your heart had slowed down, that it wasn't pitter-pattering so quickly like it had on the other days. You finally learned to not be so nervous. It was amazing to see you swimming with very little help from the teacher and to see how much you grew in just a few weeks. You can do hard things! On the last 2 days while you waited for your turn with the teacher you would have me watch you hold onto the side of the pool and voluntarily go under. You became such an expert.
You are so tired of running errands with me. Nowadays, to get you to come into the grocery store with me each Monday, I have to buy you a yogurt cup. Sometimes to go to other stores you often want to just stay in the car. Sometimes I will let you if I know that the errand will just be a minute or two. But now that summer is almost here, I can't do that with hotter weather. You will start preschool in August and I am excited that you won't have to suffer anymore with tagging along all the time.
